Hello everyone! This last night, Sept 8th I had the pleasure to attend Parme Marin‘s Pre-Fashion Week cocktail party at the Park Hyatt Hotel NYC. It was her first exhibition of this kind, and aimed to showcase a blend of her classical collection pieces , as well as her one-of-a-kinds. I was surprised by the talent and very inspired by the eclectic collection.
Born in Paris and having lived between New York, Madrid and Marrakech, jeweler Parme Marin, a self-proclaimed citizen of the world. I was totally amazed and inspired by her creativity with intriguing mix of all sorts of premium materials she has sourced through her travels with brand-new or recycled objects. Parme introduce a new approach to jewelry design, combining materials such as leather, bones, horns, feathers or horsehair as well as beads, ribbons and fabrics soon became her focus fueling her passion for jewelry. Fascinated for bright colors, geometric patterns and raw textures, her interpretation of the new aesthetic brings those materials back to life creating statement pieces for the modern woman.
Parme Marin’s each unique piece is made by hand, her creations are inspired by tribal art, African textile design, the architecture of the 1930’s and vintage fashion. Her one-of-a-kind pieces add an impact to the simplest outfit. Parme Marin was selected in 2013 by Vogue as part of their new talents program. Olá amores. Fashion week já está começando e pra esquentar os tamborins com alguns eventos e apresentações. Ontem dia 8 de Setembro fui ao coquetel de exibição dos acessórios da Designer PARME MARIN no Hotel Park Hyatt aqui em Nova Iorque. Foi a primeira vez que a desiner fez uma exibição dese tipo e a ideai era mostrar as peças clássicas bem como as exclusivas e apresentar os artesãos que trabalham com ela e que estão espalhados em diferentes paises. Parme nasceu em Paris mas mora entre Nova Iorque, Madrid e Marrakesh, uma verdadeira cidadão do mundo. Para quem gosta de peças grandes, exóticas, e modernas como eu vai ficar apaixonado em sua criação. Inpirada em material cru, arte tribal, tecidos e texturas Africanas, moda vintage e arquitetura do anos 30, Parme mistura o novo com reciclado oferecendo um novo conceito em design de joias e acessórios. Peças únicas feitas a mão, onde os principais materiais usandos reune o couro, ossos, chifres, penas e cabelo de cavalo que darão forma devolvendo vida a suas peças exuberates. Além disso ela também mistura missangas, pedras, cordão e formas geometricas. A junção dessa mistura cria uma releitura de design de joias etnicas totalmemte voltado para a mulher moderna.
Suas peças causam impacto e adiciona graciosidade a qualquer look por mais simples que ele seja. Na verdade, eu diria que cada peça já é uma roupa por si só.
